They are decently dark, without being too distracting.
The only problem for me would be where they sit on your nose, after a couple of hours it is slightly annoying. I mean a couple of hours, though, but the sun around here hardly ever lasts for that long anyway (in the UK).

I purchased these sunglasses for my husband. He wears sunlight reactive spectacles but these are not adequate in very bright sunshine. These sunglasses meet that need - they are not bulky, and on they just look like a stylish pair of sunglasses. Because he found them so good, I have subsequently purchased a pair for myself.
